Call for Reflections on vIMC

Since 1994, the International Medieval Congress has gathered scholars from all over the world so that they could  share the results of their research and envision the future common academic activities. This year IMC will be held online due to the current epidemic situation. The editorial board of Vox medii aevi admires the perseverance of the IMC team and wholeheartedly supports their decision to turn the congress into a digital-only event.

vIMC promises to be an unprecedented event for the global community of medievalists, and it has to be documented and contemplated. This is why we intend to dedicate a part of the forthcoming issue of Vox medii aevi (to be published by September 1, 2020) to the reflections of the participants of vIMC on their experience of academic discussions, socializing, and networking in the new reality.

We welcome any essays, commentaries, and polemics, as our goal is to provide a venue for opinions, reactions, and judgments. You can share your fairly informal feedback by July 20, 2020 via email: voxmediiaevi@gmail.com. It will be published on the website of the journal. The floor will be open for discussions, and the editorial board will gather the commentaries as well as revised versions of the essays till August 10, 2020. The summarized discussion will be published in “Chronica” part of the forthcoming issue of Vox medii aevi.

The editors reserve the right to reject any irrelevant, or abusive, or otherwise inappropriate commentary. After receiving each discussion piece, the editors may ask for minor revisions.
