This\nextensive letter, or&nbsp;even a&nbsp;short treatise, deals with the problem of&nbsp;image\nworshipping. Its authors attempt to&nbsp;convince the queen that the images have to\nbe&nbsp;banned from the churches of&nbsp;England. They justify their opinion by&nbsp;the\npresumption that images are condemned by&nbsp;the Second Commandment and prove it&nbsp;by\nthe judgments of&nbsp;the Fathers of&nbsp;the Church as&nbsp;well as&nbsp;the historical examples.\nThe letter reflects an&nbsp;important stage of&nbsp;the shaping of&nbsp;the Church of\nEngland\u2019s attitude towards the image worshipping which was expressed in&nbsp;the\nSecond Book of&nbsp;Homilies of&nbsp;1563. Basing on&nbsp;the careful analysis of&nbsp;the text and\nits comparison with the other sources (such as&nbsp;the homily against idolatry) the\nauthor offers an&nbsp;attribution of&nbsp;the text and explores its fate.
