A Translation and a Commentary<\/h2>\n\n\n<p>Here the first Russian translation of a fragment of the <em>Liber Chronicarum<\/em> by Hartmann Schedel (1440\u20131514) is being published, containing the description of Rome, its seven hills and both Antique and Christian monuments standing there. In the accompanying commentary the Schedel\u2019s main source is being revealed, namely the book Roma Instaurata by an Italian humanist Flavio Biondo.
