The Old Russian text of the Tale and its new collective linguistic translation into modern Russian serve as the basis for the edition. The text is supplemented by three types of commentaries (linguistic, historical, and zoological), and it is accompanied by a genealogical tree of the Rurikids, as well as a geographical map. The primary goal of the project is to equip a broad audience with the tools necessary for a close engagement with the Old Russian text. For this purpose, an interactive reading mechanism has been developed. Readerscan first customise their reading mode and choose to read either the Old Russian text or the translation, or both simultaneously. Secondly, they can adjust the types of displayed commentaries, including or excluding morphological mark-up, and accentual reconstruction. In the most complex cases where a sequence of symbols can have multiple interpretations (e.g., as one, two, or three words), the reader is given choice among
their preferred option. The chosen interpretation determines how the seqeucne is displayed or translated on the page. By default, the reading considered most desirable by the editors is selected. The launch of the project is planned for the second half of 2025.

Keywords: digital humanities; electronic publishing; Old Russian literature; the Tale of Igor’s Campaign.

FOR CITATION
Фитискина А. А., Фитискин А. А. Nelepoli.ru: комментированное электронное издание «Слова о полку Игореве» [Digital Resource] [Fitiskina A., Fitiskin A.
